I have a list of about 35 things that I need to do before the car is ready for the SVA test. I reckon another 2 months tops and it'll be done!
Anyway, first job today was to change the standard track control arm bushes for some heavy duty ones. The ones at the top are the std ones. |
The easiest way to change these would have been before I bolted the suspension together, still nevermind!
I unbolted the track control arm from its inner mounting and fulled the complete hub assy outwards. This gave enough clearance to remove the bushes. |
Once the bushes were in place I fitted SVA nut covers to all the nuts. |
The headlamps were next on the list. The mounting base of these lights is wider than the bracket. I cut the mounting supports down either side, so they didn't protrude. |
Once the lamps were bolted in place I wrapped the brackets with self amalgamating tape to hopefully give me my 2.5mm radius. |
I then fitted some plastic tubing over the headlamp wires. |
The top ball joint nut was wrapping with some more self amalgamating tape. |
Another shot of everything hopefully SVA friendly now.
22 things left on the list....
