| I picked up some rear lights from the Show at Donny yesterday so its time to fit them today..... I started off by using a laser level to ensure both sets of lights were perfectly level. |
|
| (at the time of writing) The rules for the lights
are as follows: Indicators - Max 400mm from edge, min height of 350mm, max height 1500mm, min separation 500mm. Stop Lamps - One on each side, min height of 350mm, max height 1500mm, min separation 400mm. Rear Position Lights - Max 400mm from side, min height 350mm, max height 1500mm, min separation 500mm. Rear Fog - One lamp, on centre line or to offside, min distance from stop lamp of 100mm, min height 250mm, max height 1000mm |
|
| The fixing holes were drilled, then a 40mm hole for the rear of the lamp. | |
| The rear lamps must be vertical so these come with spacer rings move them out at the tops. | |
| The holes drilled for the o/s lamps and the fog lamp. | |
| All fitted | |
| These lamps come with water tight 2 & 3 pin connector plugs so I had to cut the Tiger supplied connectors off and solder new ones. | |
| They work! | |
| A tip I got from the Chester Sports cars stand yesterday was to fit U trim to the edge of the bonnet rather than the scuttle and nose cone. This not only makes the bonnet look tidier but it also saves the edges when you take it off and stand it up. | |
| Another tip, the Tiger supplied bonnet catches fail the SVA. £16 well spent then on these rubber ones. | |
| Simply Rivet in place and Mr SVA is happy. | |
| The front ones are slightly less attractive though. | |
| I am going to send the dash off to Graham at Chester Sports Cars who is going to get it trimmed professionally. I cut the holes for the switches today and filed all the sharp edges off in readiness. | |
| Another tip from Graham. The fibreglass of the dash was bowed outwards on my scuttle. Simply drill a couple of holes and pull it back into line with cable ties. | |
| Getting there now... I reckon it will be finished before Christmas.... | |
